8 Hour Training Class Information



Students are required to provide the following for the Illinois Concealed Carry Firearms Training Courses.

Personal concealable handgun, strong arm holster, a minimum of 60 rounds of ammunition, hearing protection, eye protection, valid FOID card (FOID card is not required for class - contact us for details), valid State issued Driver's License or ID Card, documentation of prior approved training (if applicable, click here for approved prior training).

Illinois Concealed Carry Firearms Training

16 Hour Training Course

This course is for students that do not have any prior training that has been approved by the Illinois State Police to waive 8 hours of training to apply for the Illinois Concealed Carry License.  Click Here for a list of all approved prior training.  This course consists of two 8 hour training classes over a two day period.


Day one of this course consists of training provided by HG Firearms Training, Inc. that meets the State of Illinois requirements of the first 8 hours of training toward the required 16 hours of training necessary to apply for an Illinois Concealed Carry License.  Click Here for detailed class description.


Day two of this course consists of training provided by HG Firearms Training, Inc. that meets the State of Illinois requirements to complete the required 16 hours of training necessary to apply for an Illinois Concealed Carry License.


Our curriculum has been approved by the Illinois State Police. 

Illinois Concealed Carry Firearms Training

8 Hour Training Course

This course is for students that have completed prior training that has been approved by the Illinois State Police.  Click Here for a list of approved prior training.  If you have completed a combined total of 8 hours of previous training listed on the Illinois State Police approved prior training list, you can attend the 8 hour course.  Copies of Training Certificates are required to be presented to the Instructor at the class.  State CCW Permits and Licenses are not accepted as proof of training.


Military Veterans, Active Duty and Retired Military may have the first 8 hours of training waived and only be required to complete the second 8 hours of training, if they can provide proof of service.  Current Military personnel will need to provide documentation identifying the holder as an active member of the US Armed Forces (CAC or DD Form 2 ID cards in green, blue or red, for instance).  Veterans will need to provide a copy of their DD-214 or NGB 22.  A copy of the DD-214 or NGB 22 or Current ID is required to be presented to the Instructor at class.


Our curriculum has been approved by the Illinois State Police. 

Illinois Concealed Carry Firearms Training

12 Hour Training Course

HG Firearms Training is committed to provide our students with the best possible training while complying with all Illinois State Laws and provisions. 


In an effort to accomplish this goal we are currently do not provide 12 hour courses.  We suggest that students with 4 hours of credit from prior approved training attend a 16 hour class. 


Students attending the 16 hour training will know that they have meet all of the requirements to apply for their Illinois Concealed Carry License and no responsible gun owner can honestly say that they have ever had enough training.

Illinois Concealed Carry 3 Hour Renewal Course


This course is designed to meet the requirements set forth by the State of Illinois for Licenses who posses an Illinois Concealed Carry License to renew their current Illinois Concealed Carry License.  The course is three hours in length and meets all State of Illinois requirements to include but not limited to a live fire exercise.  Our curriculum has been approved by the Illinois State Police.  It is recommended this renewal course be taken within a three month period prior to the expiration of a current valid ILCCL.  Click Here for more information on this course and the State of Illinois requirements.

Terms and Agreements

By registering and paying for any class offered by HG Firearms Training, Inc., you are registering for the class that you have selected.  Full payment for the class is required, unless otherwise stated.  HG Firearms Training, Inc. contacts all registrations in the order that they have been received.  Class sizes are limited.

You may cancel your registered seat(s) at any time up to 48 hours before your scheduled class time by contacting HG Firearms Training, Inc by email or by telephone.  A $40.00 administrative fee for classes paid in full will be held for class cancellations.  After this time, no refunds will be issued for any reason.

Refunds will not be issued to registrants who have not cancelled their registration(s) and fail to show up to their scheduled class, nor will offending registrations be rescheduled.

Completion of any course does not guarantee that an Illinois Concealed Carry Firearms License will be issued by the State of Illinois nor any other State.
